    Sirius radio

My 2005 22i has Sirius radio capability. Everything is good to go except the activation. Went to web site and they asked for a SID# on the radio/sirius. Looked all over radio & such... nothing! Never got a manual for the clarion or sirius when the boat was delivered. Help.

I will call the dealer next, I thought I would ask the question here in case others had the same problem.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Do you have the additional Sirius box installed? If so the SID# is on the bottom side and you will need to unscrew the box to get the number and write the number on the top for future use.

You'd think they would give you a registration card or something with the SID on it.

In order to use the Sirius part of your stereo you have to sign up for the service and pay a monthly user fee. They will give you your activation code at that time.

Sounds like that's what he's doing already but you do have to have the ID of the unit for them to activate it. At least I did.

The Clarion manual says that you get the SID # through the radio display after the Surius receiver and antenna are hooked up.

I used to install these, everyones posts are not really correct..sorry.

you need a seperate piece that hooks up to your radio in the boat, this extra pice is called the Tuner. It will have your SID code on it. When you get the tuner and antenna installed on your boat, you will recieve the Sirius preview channel on your radio. Then you have to call into Sirius and give them your SID# and they will then activate your radio. You need to find out the model# of your radio and then find out which tuner is compatible with your radio. I just put one in my boat, I have an 06 24Ve, my cd player is a Clarion CMD4, the compatible tuner is a SIR-CL2, its about $100 with the antenna, you can find them on ebay.

THATS WHAT CLARION TOLD ME, BUT THEY SAID TO USE THE SIR-CL1 AND THE SRA 40 ANTENNA. THESE 2 PIECES COST MORE THAN THE SIR-CL2. WOULD THE SIR-CL3 WORK?

I am not sure cause i dont know the model number of your radio, but i would go with what sirius told you. Check this item number out on ebay ( Item number: 9725320674 ) it is the SIR-CL1 for $30 buy it now. You will still have to find the antenna though, try going to your local car audio stores, they should have one for about $20-25.

                      Found it!

After talking to the service dept. at my dealer,,,, they did not have a manual for that year system in order to help me find the SID# in the Sirius mode. I ended up removing the Sirius unit that's mounted in the observers side compartment. SID# is on the back of that unit. Called Sirius and was up & working in a couple of minutes.

It looks like a flippin LOWRANCE radar. Where have you found to be the best place to locate the antenne?

the best place i found for a variety of antennas is Ebay....just type in Sirius antenna...in the search bar, you should come up with a bunch of choices. If you dont have an ebay account you could create one, or you can go to your local car audio store and they can get you what you need.. I think even best buy and circuit city can get those antennas also.
