    2002 v21 riders edition v-drive warning horn

Hello, I think my low oil warning horn is spuratically going on as I drive. Assuming thats the only warning horn on the boat. It works correctly and associates with the low oil light below 1000 rpm as advertised however above 1000 the light goes out and but the horn inconsistently makes noise. Almost like a dieing cat . I would go straight to replacing the sensor on the vdrive but I am also experiencing shorting in all gauges. Again inconsistent. anyone else blessed with similar problems or have any ideas.

Check the oil in your velvet drive as well as the vdrive.

Sounds like unrelated shorting to me. If light seems to work right, I don't think the horn has anything to do with it. Not sure about your boat but my horn or buzzer isn't connected to my oil sensor. The vdrive light is just that, a light.

Is it the horn or the buzzer going off? If horn then Wired is right its a short somewhere in the wiring or horn switch, if its a buzzer then its a warning from a sensor.

Hmmm I never considered it to be the horn and not the buzzer. I think there is a warning horn/buzzer for low oil associated with the light. All little gems the last owner forgot to tell me about and did not present on the test drive. I will have to try unplugging them one at time. The instruments presents like a loss of ground or power because the all jump at once but I just can't find it

Have you checked the ground block under the helm? It could just need a tightening of all the ground connections.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
