Speedometer works to about 15 mph and then cuts out

I am a new Tige owner and new to forum.
The boat is a 2300V 2001.
I cannot find an owners manual, so my questions are not educated.
My speedometer and depth gauge work just fine until I get to about 13-15 mph and then the speedmotor goes to zero and the depth finder starts blinking between the last depth it recorded and - - - -
If I stop and start again, the same thing happens, exactly the same. Over and over, nothing intermittent.
I cannot think what it might be unless there is a 2 sensor system; one for fast and one for slow and the fast doesn't work.
Any advice would be very welcome.
