    2011 RZ2. No TAPS.

Day one with brand new 2011 RZ2 Platnium and I have no TAPS. Bummer. No sound of TAPS engaging at all. Gauge diagnostics seem good. Saw an earlier post of RAM failure due to wiring not ground to battery. Any advice would be great as I am 4 hrs away from Calgary for dealer service.

First check the taps red switch in the shift knob and see if it sticks or moves freely, we have had a few new boats with the aluminum knobs stick and burn out the solenoid on the pump.

Ok thanks. It feels free moving. Shall I remove the throttle handle to examine the switch?

No next I would have somebody watch the ram while moving the switch and see if it moves at all if it doesnt then you have to test the pump and thats more involved.

Dom knows best that's for sure, but I will add my 2 cents here. My taps went out on my '10 22Ve shortly after I got it, and it ended up being a blown fuse. Check your owner's manual for the fuse location and check that fuse. However, I will also add that for me the fuse was a temp fix and it did have to go back to the shop to get fixed, under warranty of course.

Thanks so much for the tips. With phone support from the dealer we found that the 2.5 amp in line fuse was burnt out. I swapped in a 5 amp fuse. Ah ha. I now hear and feel a response to the switch. I also can now hear the pump operating as I move the switch.

There is no change in the TAPS gauge or TAPS screen. Calibrating the TAPS had no effect on these guages.

As my boat is in the water I will bring a helper to push the switch and I will feel with my feet if the TAPS is moving. If it is moving I assume we have a sensor problem. If it is not moving we have a RAM problem.

Any more tips or pitfalls to watch out for here?
