Voltage gauge

Has anyone experienced their voltage gauge dropping from the normal 12-13 volts down to 10? I thought maybe my battery was going, but I put a battery tester on with a load applied and it registers good. I also put my Fluke voltage meter on it, and it was reading 12.6 volts. I am leaning towards a loose connection or the gauge is failing.
Any thoughts?

I just went through this last weekend myself. I'm still diagnosing more or less but I did find a loose connection and my meter is registering 13-14 volts now. So I'm assuming my alt is good.

Here is the trouble shooting guide, mine has been bad for awhile but I have had trouble getting a matched gauge, it is the 2003 blue TIGE logo faria style
