Tuning out the treble on a Clarion sound system

Anyone have any tips for reducing the treble on the clarion system in most Tiges (namely a 2004 24v)? With any decent volume the treble is ear splitting. The system is configured as follows:

XMD 3 deck and APX 400 amp. Two channel RCA output from deck to amp. 6 full range speakers and 6 tweeters on the front amplifier channel, and rear channel is set to front input + LP filter to drive the single sub. I have tried altering the crossover points on the amp and turning the treble all the way down on the deck. Neither helped enough.

    Thanks,

    AL

If removing all the treble via the deck unit didnt make the system sound extremely flat and dull, i would tend to say there is something else not setup properly.

What are your crossovers set at on the amp? (HP or LP?) Also, what is the bass level set at on the deck unit?

Do you have the clarion component speakers, or the 2-ways?
