2017 Z1: Adding E2 Tower Switch to Tower

2017 Z1: Has anyone added the E2 toggle switch to the dome light area where the newer boats have them (like the photo below)? Or does anyone know if it's feasible? I have a low bridge I have to go under and while the electric tower makes it easy, getting to the rear to the switch is not ideal. I have not even seen how the newer one works. Do you have to press the button in the photo and then select the toggle up/down? With the 2017, you must turn the key switch and then toggle up/down.

The button is just a breaker. All you need to do is press the switch. In your case I feel like it would be easier to just route the wiring to the helm.

Would all I need to do is run a pos/neg wire to my tower tapped from the original switch to the new switch? I would then have the option to use both switches or would I have to eliminate the original switch? I finally found where to order the switch with the Tower label on it.

Also, for the boats with the tower switch in the tower (like the photo), does the switch illuminate?

The switch would need to be a DPDT with no illumination.

I tapped into the OEM switch and have the additional switch in the tower. It works perfectly going down but going up, it's half the speed as the OEM switch. Why would that be?
