If you are using auxiliary battery, then you need to charge it to avoid draining or being stranded.
Choosing the right cable for dual batteries is necessary. The wires provided in most VSR Kits are suited to the amp rating on the VSR and length provided.
How To Wire a VSR?
Dual battery kit is an isolator which uses a voltage sensing relay that charges the second battery using the alternator/solar system and cuts off the connection to the cranking battery when it drops below 12.8 volts.
You also need to pick up enough cable lugs to terminate your cables.
Don't forget to check all cable terminals are crimped tightly with a lug crimper.
You can supply with multimeter.
