    voltage guage not working

Does anyone have a diagram of the wiring for the voltmeter. The boat is an 05 Tige 20V. Does it read off the battery or the alternator?

Across the top, click on the "Downloads" tab, then click "Manuals" then click on "20V Wiring diagram" It's for an 07 20V, but even though the boats are very similar, the wiring could be different.

When you say it's not working, do you mean the gauge is head or it's not showing alternator charging voltage? Have you touched a DVOM (digital volt meter) to the back of the gauge with the key on to see if you have power and ground and that they are tight.

I will take a look at the wiring diagrams on here. The gauge is dead the needle is not moving at all. Oil, temp, gas, and volt are all in one gauge on the instrument panel. The rest of them work. I took a look behind the gauge but didnt test for power. I will try it out though. Should the gauge move when I turn the key on or does the engine have to be running for it to move?

After you check the gauge like chpthril said, if you could fire the engine up and use your DVOM and probe the alternator to see if its putting out correct voltage, should be about 13.4 to 13.7 if im correct
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.

The alternator is putting out about 13.6 volts, I tested that this morning.

you will need to see if the gauge is getting 12v and see if the ground is good

the dash needs to be pooped out

How hard is it to pop the dash out?

Well I popped the dash out and tested the wires on the back of the guage. There is a pinkish red wire that is weak only about 3 volts. I had a hard time tracing it with all the bundles of wires. Seems like it might be the problem. I looked at the wiring diagram for the 07 20v but I didnt see anything on there about the volt meter.

If your gauge is still out, check and see if there is a letter, like a "B" next to the terminal that the pinkish wire is connected to. That more then likely the battery feed for the alt. I would disconnect it from the gauge, and then run a temp wire from known-good voltage source, like off the back of the key switch or an empty cavity at the fuse box, to the back of the gauge and see what it does.

I didn't think of that. I will try that and see what happens. I'll let you know. Thanks

Well I took the wire off the back of the gauge that was reading low voltage and replaced it with a wire that was 12volts and nothing except the taps comes on momentarily as soon as I touch the wire to the terminal. The fuel gauge normally comes up and the oil pressure just a bit when the key comes on but this time with the 12volt wire nothing. Replaced the old wire and the temp, oil, and fuel all work except the volts. Its a pinkish color wire and it splices into the wiring that goes into the back of the rpm gauge and then runs off into the big wiring harness. I looked at the wiring diagram and I found all the wires except for the wire that goes to the voltmeter.
