    Gauges Inopt

Hi Folks NOOB here....I own a 2000 21I and have never had any trouble with her couple of Impeller replacement but nothing big.

The problem with her is that the Gauges are not working (with the exception of the Oil gauge) or the Tach.

Where is the fuse box or fuses located?
The Battery is 9 yrs old could it be a bad battery?
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Nine year old battery!!!

Well, let's start there with taking that baby out and getting it tested. That is one old battery for sure.

I wouldn't even bother testing it trade it in.

Look for a loose connection on the other gauges. Its very common for boat builders to daisy-chain the power from one gauge to another, one loose connection and the rest of the line is inop. A 12V test light can be your friend here

Yes, in Sactown and don't head down to the Delta that often. Just too far when I have good water on Sac River.

Good luck!!! Let us know and post pictures of your boat. We like pictures here.

Replaced the Batt and all is well. The gauges I fixed by pounding on them with my palm guess they were stuck?).
Funny thing I took the old batt in just out of curiosty and it tested goood after 9 years original OEM Batt.

Thanks for all the help Guys!

BTW, there are 2 inline fuses right at the ignition switch that power the gauges. If they all stop working at once, check those. Glad you got it worked out.

Also, sometimes a poor ground connection will make the gauges appear to not work or not work correctly.
