    Repeat Thread???

Hey just so I can verify something cause it might be something else besides what you guys have mentioned in previous threads.

Went out last weekend and launched the boat like normal and boat ran excellent then did some riding for the major part of the day.. as soon as we stopped and anchored so the kids can chill and swim whatever, my stereo goes out. Ive had sounds systems before in my cars and trucks and what not and it seemed like it was shorting. Kept cutting in and out on and off. So I turned the stereo off caus Id figured the battery must of died. So I switched it to the number two battery and didnt take anychances and told the kids to come in so in case we had a problem we wouldnt risk it and just load up and take off. So I fired it up and started as if the battery was low. But it cranked up on the first try so I said LETS GO!. we did but I noticed the Volt Gauge wasnt even reading and noticed my fuel gauge was reading that I was below the E which was odd cause I usually need a day and a half to go empty. I had filled it up before getting into the lake so I knew that wasnt the problem. My Tige is a 2006 and Im definastely gonna take the batteries out and have them tested but I just dont wanna take it to the dealer and have them tell me its gonna be X's amount of dollars and not even be the actuall problem. I hate checking anything beyond taking the batteries out so help me out guys!!! lol Im might add the amps were cutting out as well I mean turning on and off.

How loud did you have the stereo on? How many amps to you have? I assuming that you have two batteries? How old are the batteries?

My stereo will cut out after 5 hours of loud play time. That is because the batteries that run the stereo are not providing enough voltage to the amps and the amps shut down and go into protect mode IMO.

I wasnt playing the stereo loud it was at 12 on the volume meter. so not even that much. we were anchored for like 30 minutes. sucks.. I have two amps and two batteries and both are 3 years old. unless my dealer had them longer...haha

During the winter, do you put them on a charger/tender?

IMO, the batteries need to be replaced.

No I dont cause I use it year round. Seriously.. this is in regards to putting them on a charger or tender.

              IMO = in my opinion

Well, I would say that they are going out on you. I ask about the charger/tender but since you are using the boat year round, the alternator has been the main source of charging for the batteries. I just changed out my SUV battery and the guy at the parts store says that batteries go bad after awhile and a 4 year life on a car batter is normal but after that, they tend to go bad. Now your batteries in the boat are not allowing you to keep the charge as long, so IMO, the batteries are heading south.. Sorry.

LOL Its better to know that its my batteries and not something else... In the begining my Tige ran like crap cause it was problem after problem and after my first year and all the kinks were worked on boats been running like a champ. Thanks bell-y boy... Im on my way to the store... any batteries youd recommend?

Sounds like low battery(s), could be a bad one. i'm guessing your 06 24V is the typical 2 battery system with switch, no electronic isolator?

If you can, check the voltage level of the batts with a meter. if they are low, have them tested for a bad cell, etc. If they test good, give them a good charge and go from there. May also wan to test the alternator's voltage output as well.

I would consider adding in a Iso/combiner and then you can set it and forget it with the Perko switch.

                    1) Two of the same brand

                    2) Two deep cycles

                    3) Costco brand Marine Batteries work great and have a nice warranty along with it.. DomsZ06 knows about that warranty

Sorry, had to... But Chpthril has a good suggestion. This will save you money but not necessarily time but $$$ is a good thing right now

And, unfortunately, looks like Juiceman has logged off. Probably on his way to Costco right now for batteries. Way to go, da.

                        j/k
