    Amp Mounting Question

I have a 21i and have 1 amp from factory installed on the inside right wall of the cubby hole where the battery etc is located. It looks like a piece of wood or something solid is behind the carpet that the amp is mounted to. I need to install another amp and there isnt much room on that piece of solid material behind the carpet.

Any ideas of how to install another amp in that area on the same wall?

    Thanks

Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

You will probably need to move the existing amp in order to make room, maybe look at mounting them perpendicular. Take a couple pieces of cardboard and mock up the amps' foot print and see how they might fit!

Another question, do you have problems with amps overheating in that space?

Not usually, but one thing I like to do is not mount the amp directly to the wall/carpet. You can find some rubber feet at most any hardware store that will work.

            Good Idea

It might have to do with being 115 degrees on days...

            Thanks

I have a 21 I also. I jst added 2 amps. I amd a fake wall on the other sied of that space and mounted my Amps there. There is not very much space where the Factory amp is installed.

If you guys are running into heat issues you may want to add a couple of small muffin fans to get air moving in that space. They sell 12vdc models that you could mount on your amp wall with modified L brackets that allow you to point them where needed. If you are stopping in a cove or where ever and the boat is not circulating air in that space it would be a good idea to add the fans especially if you are cranking some volume. just my
