Hopefully Tim or someone else will chime in but I believe one of the set-ups is better for being heard at riding lengths behind the boat and one is better for just being loud around the boat. I think the 3 some for riding and the pro 80s for around the boat.

wakemaker - you are looking to compare the 3-some with 2 pairs of Pro-80's, I assume? Because the 3-some already has one pair of Pro-80's in it. Like rogers said, maybe Tim, chpthril, or SPBfan could chime in on the comparison.

Kito mentioned the Double-up system...my understanding is that it is great for surfing or party-cove type of listening. But if you are looking for sound projected back to a wakeboarder, then the 3-some or 2 pairs of Pro-80's (or Pro-60's) would be louder for the rider.

The loudest system for the rider and overall is the 3-Some or pair of PRO 485 or 2 pairs of PRO 80's. Sound wise all are insane loud. So it is then based on what can fit your tower as many Tige towers cannot fit the pair of PRO 485's for instance. And what you like looks wise. Some prefer the 4 can look and some prefer the 3-Some look.

So then after that in terms of sound would be other options like a 3-Some with 60's instead of 80's called the 60 3-Some, 80's and 60's combo and then 2 pairs of 60's, and the Double Up.

Then the single pair of 80's then the single pair of 60's etc...

So wakemaker. The 3-Some set up is a pair of 80's and a single 485. So you are adding the 485 which has a pair of 8 inch mid bass drivers and a single HLCD in the center.

If you are looking for loud. Then the 3-some would be the ticket. Power it with our SYN-6 amp. 200x2 and 600x1. Designed to run the 3-Some.

The Double Up system is the one we designed for those who want loud but prefer a ton of punch for party cove and surfing. It gets plenty loud but since you are only adding a mid bass in the MB-8 and not a HLCD as in the 80's. You do not have the 80 feet back volume as you would with the 80's. But you gain more mid bass punch in and around the boat. We had many customers ask for a system like this as many wanted loud for party or full for surfing etc...

So the best way to choose a system is to let me know what tower you have. As that will narrow it down to what can fit. Then what your sound goals are. Loudest on the lake? Party Cove? Just some tunes? etc....Then we can lay out some options and get the best one for your boat.

Tim, I'm looking at the 3some as well. I have a pair of pro 80s and thinking about stepping it up. 07 22ve with standard tower (can't remember which letter). Would the 3some fit? My concern is the bimini. I'm not sure all will fit w/ the bimini.

You can check the gallery section (tige) of our site. http://www.wetsounds.com/pages/galle...tige/tige.html

There are some various set ups on the towers. A couple 3-Some on them, I think the same tower as yours. The 3-Some will fit. As for the bimini, you might have to lower it a bit.
