    Components Install

OK... this will be done the painful way... with the picts uploaded all here. Sorry Zad... deal with it.

I had collected all the parts for my new system over the summer:

    2 new amps
    Bazooka 400
    Kicker 700.5

    New cabin speakers (4)
    Kicker km620s

    New Tower speakers
    Bazooka Tubbies (8 inch)

    New H/U
    Clarion CMD5

    New Transom Remote
    Clarion SSB series

    New ipod adapter
Wrong one. but hopefully getting the right one.

    All the fixings
    wire and terminals
    Distribution blocks
    150 amp breaker
    shrink tubing
    industrial velcro

    I think that is it.

I was going to install the stuff this fall, but developed a bum wrist and just wanted it done soooooo I had the stuff installed at Chessie Marine in MD.

I want to say that they did a great job - real clean! The system rocks as my neighbors can attest to.

I do have to get and install the right iPod adapter, get a new bow speaker that was punctured during the install and also want to upgrade the remote that is in the dash (it works, but does not light up) with the newer one.

Without further adieu (or more hot air) here are the picts:

As you can see there is 4 ga running from the distribution blocks to the amps... we got our communication mixed up there and I might change that although the manuals say 4 ga is OK. Also, I will have to deal with the wiring to the batteries as currently the H/U is powered by one battery and the amps are powered on the other battery (my boat has 2 cranking batteries at this time. Some thing(s) to deal with in the Spring.

Nice! It's always so much fun when it's all done. As for your batteries, just get a Perko switch and be done with it.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Definitely get an onboard battery charger. I have a Pro Mariner 12. It'll charge up my batteries from dead in just a few hours. Whenever I put my boat away, I just plug it in and the batteries are fresh for the next time.

        Looks great!

4ga from the dist blocks to the amps is perfect. Where is the battery in relation to the circuit breaker, in other words, how far away?

i took a string and measured the run - it is about 15 inches.

Odds of a power wire grounding out in a boat are slim, but I always like to have my circuit protection as close to the battery as possible.

What Ipod adapter did you get that doesnt work? Is it one that plugs up to the AUX inputs or an interface that uses the Cnet?

plugs into Cnet. I got the older interface: 1521 (i think that is the model number) I just ordered the 1276 which i understand it the right one. I posted the link in the PW thread.... at me.

Is this the one that you can only have 6 playlist's? Because it is read like a cd changer.

Where did you get those RF disto blocks? I like those.

Nope, this unit has been enhanced, you can basically leave the Ipod alone and scroll through all the play functions of the Ipod using the H/U or remote.

                            That is my understanding.

I have not been able to find the difference in the 1276 and the 1276B any where on the net.

                              Thanks Dave!! It freaking rocks!

I do want to add a WS-420 and mebbe a 485 up top as the Bazooka is a 4 channel amp.
