That's what I'm thinking. Imagine you and your wife riding a tandem axle bike, both trying to accomplish the same thing but your up front peddling your @$$ off and the wife is in back just trying to keep up, but not really adding to the momentum due to the huge diff in power.......does this make more sense

There is that potential for, (depending on frequency) the two woofers to be fighting each other and cancelling each other out, due to being out-of-phase.

It will be a simpler system with a single monster woofer, and that REMOVES the potential for phase cancellation, (electrical, enclosure-induced, placement-induced, or otherwise).

I like going with teh silgle S12L7. Sell the MTX to help pay for the other goodies, like a tower amp maybe...
Interesting situation, never been in a boat/car with 2 subs of such different outputs but it just sounded (sorry for the pun ) like the weaker one may just get over powered.

two 350-4's for the full range speakers and the 8's. That gives you a one-speaker-per-amp-channel setup, (ideal in my opinion).

One more 350. for the tower (another speaker per channel situation)

A 750.1 for the sub, (if you can get the dual 4-ohm version)

This is but one possible scenario...
    Mike?
Wet Sounds Syn6 may be worth looking at for the 6 cabins and the pair of 8's. ???

This would be a let less cluttered them 4 amps

Phil, what do you think about this?
      Well....

It comes down to feasibilityin part, and the wallet has to play its role.

Alpine is great stuff, and I am close buddies with the guy that heads up the 12 -volt side... If it is a value on E-Bay right now....

However, digital full-range just makes me nervous; it does for any brand, Alpine or any other. Digital subs are easy, as the frequencies involved are less prone to the problems associated with digital. Analog Class A/B is hard to beat for full range reproduction from a music standpoint.

Digital has a potential to be more efficeint.

I guess it comes down to personal preference.
      It's not an optical illusion.
      It just looks like one.....

I agree with everything Phil says. The best reason to go with Kicker is you know you will have answers from the authority. On those PDX amps just doing a quick look the PDX4.150 is $350 off MSRP for $399.

I really hate adding more options but the prices Andrew can get on Arc stuff is amazing and I have been super happy with their thermal abilities this summer. All depends on budget and that wiring diagram you put together later. Not sure if you heard mine this weekend but all it has is a 300.4 to the tower and a 900.6 doing the sub and 6 interior speakers.

So I pulled the MTX and the box out last night. It is the 4 ohm Thunder 7500, it's quite massive actually. The box was sealed??? I would love to cut and reuse that box for the L7 but the internal volume is only 1.25 cu ft. So I now have a 13"x13" square hole where the box used to reside. Now I need to see how I can fit a much larger box in there...off to the drawing board.

Mike/Phil, Would the 700.5 power the current tower speakers correctly? They are the standard Kickers that came with the tower of power package in 2006. I am thinking that if this works, I will only have to buy three amps this winter and then another next winter when I put the MB8 and the Pro60's on the tower

Yes, the 700.5 will power the tower speakers just perfect.

Seriously take a look at a 6 chnl amp such as the Wet Sounds Syn 6 or the Arc 900.6 for all the cabins. Then all you need is a sub amp for the L7.

Good news on the tower speakers

For the cabins, the Syn 6 is rated at 60WX4 and 155WX2

It sure looks like that would work great!

I might have one or 2 for sale as they don't really work with my set-up....I need 4 amps and none of those are Syn6 amps

Amps (really looking for a 700.5), sub, and a set of kicker 620.2 components
