The 350.4 is a 4 channel amp. I currently have 6 each 6 1/2's plus the seperate tweeters in the cabin as well as 2 each 8" mid-bass. Add to that the 4 each 6 1/2's on the tower. So, is the 350.4 enough for all those speakers?
I am not as concerned about powering up the tower with a ton of juice this year because I am working on new Wetsounds sometime next season.
As far as the MTX Thunder 7500, isn't the 400.1 matched up perfectly with each at 400 watts RMS?
The 4chnl side of the 350.4 is very close to the output of the 4chnl side of the 700.5, so how ever your current set up is, it would pretty much not change. I think we need to know exactly what you have and how it's wired and to what. You are positive on the MTX 7500? and is it DVC or single, and what Ohm coil(s) is it?
700.5 = 70W RMS x 4 @ 4ohm / 85W RMS x 4 @ 2ohm
350.4 = 60W RMS x 4 @ 4ohm / 90W RMS x 4 @ 2ohmLast edited by chpthril; 10-01-2008, 04:12 PM.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Both are a perfect match for the 700.5 class D chnl @ 420 watts.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I will climb around the boat tonight and try to put a diagram together of everything.
It sure will be nice to get this all sorted out and taken care of correctly before I even touch the ballast this winter.

Ok, this brings me back to a post yesterday. You have a sub that will sound very nice getting it's needed 400W's RMS (maybe only getting 210 depending on the subs impedance) and a sub that will absolutely pound when receiving it's needed 750W's RMS.
Would the Kicker L7 just not drown out the MTX? As I stated, like blue on black!Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

In my opinion the 8's are not really necessary, and you need a separate amplifier for the tower speakers. IF you want to keep the 8's I might parallel them to the half of the amp that only has a single pair of 6's on it, but at that point the amp is really over loaded, (in my humble opinion).
I might as well keep the 8's seeing as they are currently in place and gaping holes in the boat don't look too pretty.

There is that potential for, (depending on frequency) the two woofers to be fighting each other and cancelling each other out, due to being out-of-phase.
It will be a simpler system with a single monster woofer, and that REMOVES the potential for phase cancellation, (electrical, enclosure-induced, placement-induced, or otherwise).
I like going with teh silgle S12L7. Sell the MTX to help pay for the other goodies, like a tower amp maybe...It's not an optical illusion.

two 350-4's for the full range speakers and the 8's. That gives you a one-speaker-per-amp-channel setup, (ideal in my opinion).
One more 350. for the tower (another speaker per channel situation)
A 750.1 for the sub, (if you can get the dual 4-ohm version)
This is but one possible scenario...
