One suggestion I'd make if you're in a humid environment. Get yourself some of those rechargeable dehumidifiers and throw a few of them in the storage area where your amps are. It will at least keep things drier in there when the storage area is closed and perhaps lengthen the life of your components a bit.

But I'm with spharis on this one. If you are in a salt water environment, plan on replacing lots of stuff every few years (instruments, electronics, fittings, etc.). It's just a harsh environment.

        OK.

        I have the following:

        Cabin:
        6 Clarion 8" speakers
        1 500W Clarion Sub

        2 tower speakers
        Bazooka MT tubbies 8002s

        Amps:
        Bazooka 4 channel for Tower
        Kicker MX700.5 for cabin

Now I need help with the wiring!

Can someone please help me with the type, size and amount of wiring that I need?

What's the sum of the fuses in the Bazooka 4chnl amp? We need this to calculate circuit protection and wire ga.

If you have the amp, just add up the fuses plugged in the side....probably 2 20a fuses, so it could be a 40a load.

The 700.5 is 90A's, so I'd say go with a 140A circuit breaker.

2ga power wire from the battery to the Amps.

2 non-fused distribution blocks and 4ga from each block to amp.

Are there any wiring diagrams that show the connections with the proper gauge wire? I've done a search, but am having a hard time finding one that shows all of the various components... (need a help! smiley face!)

Do you have a specific question? The amp instructions will give you a basic diagram showing how/where to wire up speakers, sub, RCA's, and remote turn-on.

The rest has been answered in previous post.

You can down load the amp PDF from Kicker.com

Could this be why the amp doesn't work?

ssssssss-OK. Was going to replace the breaker anyway... Oh and the amp too!

Now if I can just find the link to the breakers.. I know it is here somewhere.

One question:- how do I terminate the 4 AWG wire at the amp. Could not find any proper connectors at Lowes nor HD.

Go to Radio Shack. Best Buy also has them.

The MX700.5 was designed to use a stock standard marine 4-gage ring terminal. You probably can find at automotive parts store. If the run is quite short, you might get away with using a length of pre-terminated 4-gage battery cable.

The runs will be short. The house batteries & amps will be under the passenger storage compartment and the HU is in the glove box just above.

So, I am almost ready to start the project. Phew!

I have not decided whether to use distribution blocks or do parallel runs to the amps. Attached is the drawing of wiring. Can someone please let me know if it is OK?
