That plugs into the bottom of the ipod and has rca's at the other end?

Both these use the 3mm double ended headphone jack, and go into the head unit's AUX RCA's, is this not what you are looking for? Or do you want the Ipod controller like posted at the beginning of the thread?

I do not want to use the 3mm headphone jack.

              I get it now.

I thought the cable on the previous page plugged into the bottom of the ipod and went to rca's.

              I guess I ASSumed, oops

If you have a Clarion H/U, you want the CCA-ipod. I dont have an outlet for those yet, but working on it.

Cant find anything that tells me what head units it is compatible with. I would think any of them with Cnet.

                      Clarion site says this

Track Information on CD Text Compatible Source Units
I don't know if the CMD3 is CD text compatible. If that is the difference.

I had found a PDF from a google search that had all of Clarion's iPod docs and compatibility information but I can't find it now.

Do you mean you have an XMD3? I don't think I've hear of the CMD3. I think you're stuck with the old style changer like piece EA1251. I just bought the new CMD5 from eBay for $220 shipped and you really can't beat it compared to the XMD3 just for the MP3 compatibility alone.

How about just repladcing the head unit?
                              It's not an optical illusion.
                              It just looks like one.....

Yeah, that's what I meant to say.

It is not that important to me.
