I got new tower speakers!

So I hear on WW that a guy is selling his NVS Tyrants on Ebay. Duane (the owner of NVS) pipes up that the speakers are very well taken care of, so much so that he will warranty them for 1 year. I thought that was an impressive display of how well the speakers are cared for and their durability.

The starting bid is $850, brand new they cost $1495. I see that is a killer deal, so I start the bidding, sure that someone will snipe them at the last minute. My high bid was $10 more.

Well, no one sniped them from me! So now I am the proud owner of some NVS Tyrants

I will have to give a head to head comparison to the Addictions I currently own once I get them up on the tower.

The benefits of the upgrade are that they are newer, the clamps are more universal (mine only fit my tower), and I expect a better midrange from them.

I already have an amp that can push them, I just will be able to turn the gains up better.

BTW, I have a pair of Addictions for sale that fit perfectly to most Tige towers from 2003-2005. I have offered them to Lovin Powell first...but whoever can pony up the most the quickest can have them. I saved the original boxes they came in for shipping purposes.

I think I am still hoping to sell next summer and get one of the first 09's that come out. But we will have to see if I don't accidentally buy more tower speakers and such before then that drains my spending account .

I was considering Wet Sounds for the next boat...but money talks! If I cannot dump my Addictions, then I will put them on the boat when I sell and take the Tyrants to the new boat.

The plan is for the new boat to be ready by mid October for sure.

Who are we going to put in charge of the stereo contest anyway? As I said before, I don't care if we do it by best applause, best song, best fart noise...but I suppose we should put together a game plan for structure. Who cares, even use a DB meter if you want, count it as 1/3 of the score, then have the DB meter measure the audience applause, and then have the rest be according to 3 of the Monster girls, who are required to go home with the winner.
