It was a hypthetical question, no need to worry

the biggest probability the FCC would know is from someone letting them know... possibly a nearby station that is getting partially stepped on, or maybe just someone irritated with your programming.

Second best method is their sniffing equipment...

These are my opinions. There may in fact be an easier and more obvious answer.

It would take a while regardless, and they would likely just tell you to shut down when they first figured it out...

I have the new Eclipse - 4000.

It is stereo / mono selectable.

Despite the note that the power supply is coming soon, it runs fine on a clean filtered 12-volt power source...

The one thing I am noticing withthe 4000 is that it seems to have an auto-gain input sensing device on the front-end. It does not randonmly crank up or compress like an old cheap casette recorder, but it starts out at extremely low volume, and slowly runs up to a decent operating level.

I suspect that circuit will prevent a problem I noticed with previous MBB iterations; specifically when run off of an MP3 player headphone output or a H/U RCA output, it was real easy to crunch the front-end of the transmitter and distort real bad... REAL bad....

TO this point, I have been unable to get the 4000 to clip, regardless of input level. You just have to wait a while for it to power up and find a good operating level...

If so, recommend 33.5" Telescoping antenna OR 6.25" rubber antenna??

I don't know. The 33.5" seems like it should get "out there" further, but the rubber antenna will be a heck of a lot more convenient!

Unless you ar really going for broadcast distance, I think the rubber one would be safer and less prone to damage on the boat...
