Alpine "Marine" RF Remote?

In its 2007 line, Alpine is offering head units compatible with a new "marine" RF remote that supposedly operates up to 100 ft. with no line of sight requirement. That sounds really good to me -- being able to control volume and other basic functions (like song up or down on the iPod) while sitting on the beach or even foating near by.

I wanted to see if anyone has tried this set up to see how well it really works. Also, some advertise it as water "resistant" and others water "proof." Any experience with that issue?

I have the same remote made by another company running my alpine. It works very well at 100 ft and it is waterproof and floats.
