    NEED HELP QUICKLY!!

We are in the process if finishing up the stereo install today. I have one issue that I'm still a little unclear on.

I have a 2 battery bank (EDIB from Tige). There is a battery switch installed. My plan was to run the power and ground directly to the deep cycle, bypassing the battery switch. I was going to put my inline fuse just over 12inches from the battery because this will be the easiest place to put it (my options are very limited much closer than that). Is this safe, or should I route the power through the battery switch?

2-If I need to route through the battery switch, where should I install the inline fuse...before or after?
3-If I don't run the power through the switch, am I risking damage to any other of my electrical components and/or will the starter pull power through the inline fuse and break it?

I appreciate the quick responses. We are very close to finishing and this is the last step (other than powering up and testing everything).

    1. Wiring directly to the deep cycle is safe; 12 inches from the battery is appropriate, if not the law, (wink wink)
    2. If you decide to wire the stereo power wire through the batt switch, treat the batt switch as the battery, and put your in-line fuse BETWEEN the batt switch and the amp(s)
    3. As long as the fuse is ONLY between the battery, (or batt switch) and the amp(s) no other current will go through it. The short and simple answer to question three is NO
    It's not an optical illusion.
    It just looks like one.....

Keep in mind that if you go directly to the battery, the amp will run off of that battery regardless of where you have the switch turned. So you could have the switch turned to one battery, and have both of them dead when you go to start the boat.
      Be excellent to one another.

I looked closer at my batt switch and I noticed that it isn't a 1,2,both, off. It looks like a on/off only.

If I run the amps directly to the deep cycle, how would that drain my starter battery?
