If I were going to put anything metal in salt I would clear coat it first.

DOMSZ06, Be very careful what type of accusations you make on sites without any proof or facts. Your statement is completely wrong and untrue. Wet Sounds was started before NVS. No copying anywhere. Wet Sounds was started 4 years ago. I have had prototypes of these speakers and future products long before the horn craze started. I also have proof. My plan was to be the first company selling HLCD tower speaker and start the craze. I have also been reading on sites like WW for over 5 years and read the original post Duane did with his first set of NVS in August of 2003. Thinking, Dam I better hurry up. Our speakers are engineered and built from the ground up. From the housings to the driver, to the cone material, crossover etc....The amount of time and engineering required and tooling time to build the parts takes longer. This is why we came to market when we did. I could not rush it and the testing we do takes time. Please have the facts before posting things like that. Also, Do some research on patents. The original compression driver was developed by two Bell Laboratory engineers, Wente and Thuras in 1926. Filed in 1926 and granted a patent in 1929.
I love debates and hope that you can get a chance to listen to our speakers as well. All I ask is opinions about the look and what you like are one thing and what these forums are all about. But statements like you made are out of line.
For all, there are many ways to build a compression driver such as material, horn taper, length etc…It is impossible and impractical to make a blanket statement on the sound overall. The best thing is to try to listen and compare.
Thanks in advance.

This thread is all a matter of opinion. I love my NVS, and Love hearing the tunes way out!! Also love rocking the beaches. SPharis is right, it will never be clear, but loud YES!!
This could be a he said, she said. I want to hear the wetsounds, and I hope MOKI and I can meet up one day and compare. It should be fun!

It's obvious you both have an ear for this stuff. For me, loud and clear 100' back as well as in the boat is what I'm after. My Wetsounds do this and I am satisfied. They may be pricey, but so was the boat, so it makes it ok, or so I tell myslf and the wife.
Now if you put a set of Pro 80's on a golf cart like I saw in the dunes last week, thats just having to much extra cash on hand.
Again, nice job guys, I learn a little more everyday on this site.

Tim,
Be sure to read what I say, before you accuse openly in a public forum, If you want me to watch what I say, then you should as well!
I have reread what I posted earlier, and see where it was miss interputed and have deleated it. Please refrain from public bashing of members, and i will do the same. Want to bash me, then do it in a PM.
and Like i said before, I feel that there are lots of good brands out there, and from what I hear, yours are one of them, haven't heard them yet, and haven't heard of or read any testing on them to prove NVS is better or worse then Wetsounds.
People speak very highly of you and your product, just like they and I do of Duane. I am sure they are both GREAT brands, and soon I hope to hear yours as well.Last edited by Domsz06; 03-09-2007, 04:04 PM.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

Tim,
It's fine. It's just a he said she said. I dont know you, I know Duane, etc, etc etc. They are both fine products I'm sure, and I know when I bought my NVS, yours were no where to be found, hence my decision.
Anyway, I'm setting up a study with mine and Moki, and we will post the results.
