    Install WS420

    Looking for a little help.
I pulled my WS420 out of my Z1 when I traded it in last year and I am wanting to get it installed in the Z3. The local audio install dude wants $350+ to install this bad boy. I think that it is something I can pull off, but I have a couple of questions.

I first plan on installing it under the drivers helm, just like it was in my Z1. When I took it out the red and black wires were plugged into a power source with the clips that slide into a metal. I obviously don't know what these types of connectors are called
The Blue REM wire ran all the way with the RCA cables to where the amps were on the port side. I don't remember what wire it was hooked up to.

I am pretty sure I can figure out all of the RCA hook ups as it seems very simple from the factory diagrams. My main issue is the power hook up.

I hope this makes sense and thanks so much for any help.

The red wire is (B+ 12V), the black wire is (B- Ground), and the blue wire is the remote turn on. Daisy chain these off of one of your amps.

Does anyone know if there is a place under the helm to hook up the power cords like I was able to on my Z1? I will just have to get some new wires to run all the way to the amps which is no biggie, but figured I would check. Chpthril, any suggestions?
      Thanks again.

You absolutely do not want to connect the EQ's red and black to anywhere under the helm. Since you will be routing RCAs and a turn-on lead over to the amp wall, run a pair for the B+ and B-

Thanks for the advice!! Got it all hooked up and it sounds great.
One issue I am having is I have lost functionality to turn the volume down using the radio, tige touch screen and transom remote.
Any idea what I might have done? Thanks as always

Are you using the head unit as the source such as CD, tuner, USB or are you running the WS-420 in its AUX mode and plugged into the rear AUX of the WS-420?

I do have the 420 set to main not AUX.
do you think I might have hooked the main Rca cable to the wrong hook up to radio?
I disconnected all the RCA's from the amps and connected the 420 RCA's. I hooked the "MAIN" line up to two RCA connectors that were hanging down from the radio. Nothing was connected to these RCA's before installing 420.

Did you connect to the GREEN fixed output RCAs? If so, find the purple non-fade outputs and use those.

Same source as the head unit.
