Wasn't part of that comment, my fault for not typing it correctly. It's still a mis appropriation in my eyes until I guess he gives more info that you can read into that I can't, as you stated. Carry on and don't ruin this poor guys thread. You said nothing of throttling back but the 4 channel to match the 150, now it's the whole amp to match the sub like I stated.. Got that now too.. Class and efficiency have little bearing on any decision since he already owns the Syn-6 and its mounted, wired and in use. He's asking about re-purposing the existing 6 chnl to drive 6 full-range and then add a dedicated sub amp. Im still curious as to what the miss appropriation is? Whats wrong with a 6 chnl running 3 pair of speaker or 3 pair of speakers and a sub?

Didn't know you were making the decision for the OP as this isn't your post. You make a lot of assumptions but leave no one else to have any. I said nothing of your post, I gave a independent answer base off his posts. Mainly this last comment "I want the whole system to compliment eachother." To recap my posts for you.
The Syn 6 will do 600 watts to the xs12, This is plenty for that sub, you will actually tune it down a bit ( around 400 watts) to match the existing inboat power. This set up is a big upgrade bass wise from the 10, which It seems you want, without buying anything but a sub. Adding a amplifier (with the same or less power) for the xs12 when you have the power in one chassis for a cohesive system now seems, excessive. Especially if you already have the amplifier in the boat and its more work to add another amp for some as pointed out. Want more power for the Inboats and sub? Next step would be 100 watts to Inboats and 6-800 watts to the xs12, this is where the HTX comment comes from. Selling the Syn6 for two HTX amps also allows you to keep the same chassis design, as sometimes that matters to people, while increasing power across the system. You get class D technology by switching as well. You can also dumb down the syn6 in 3 channel mode to around 100 watts a speaker and add a Syn2 to the xs12, keeping the Syn look. I have replaced several syn6's due to different issues. There are other reason I can dig deeper into if you want to discuss it privately. As I am here to help, not air dirty laundry.
Now, If your going to run a 1000 watt or better amp I would choose a XXX over the xs12, as this is the appropriate power to sub. Good stuff and ideas from all parties.
After reviewing all the changes I want to make and the amount of $$$ Im going to spend this spring; Samson tower mirror, REV 10's on syn4, ws420bt, xs12 and underwater lights. Im also going to have to re-wire the amps with 1/0 and the tower with 12 awg wire. I think Im going to put the xs12 on the syn6 for now. Next years mods might include replacing the xs12 with a xxx on a sd2 amp and replace the syn6 with an sd6 and add some 808's
