    Tower Speaker Wiring

The boat has been put away for the winter...sigh

At the end of the summer, I bought a left over 2014 Z1 that has the Wet Sounds Power Premium System which consisted of the SYN 6 Amplifier, XS-650 speakers, and the XS-10FA subwoofer. I would like to add a pair of tower speakers this winter, which will more than likely be REV8's unless someone can talk me out of them.

There is wiring already installed in the tower for the speakers. I would assume Channels 1-2 will be used for interior speakers, channels 3-4 will be used for tower speakers, and bridge channels 5-6 for the sub. Or will I need to pick up a SYN 2 for just the tower speakers?

Any input on on other people's setups vs. audio quality would be great.

All chnls are spoken for on the factory installed Syn-6, so you will need a dedicated tower amp.

What are your tower speaker goals? This will the one of the determining factors in whats best.

Depending on your choice and how you power them, you need to upgrade the factory tower wiring. IIRC, its 16ga, which a tad light for much.

Tower speaker goals would mainly be clarity when riding. We mostly do a lot of surfing, but wakeboarding and tugging the kids around on the tube also happen frequently. I wouldn't be opposed to going the Kicker or Rockford Fosgate route, but with the Alpha Z tower, I personally think the Wet Sounds cans look the best and have the cleanest installation.

The boat is in storage, so I couldn't double check exactly what is there. Didn't realize the tower wiring was only 16ga, would definitely want to upgrade that. At least I should be able to use the factory wiring to fish larger wire through.

For an all around setup thats going to yield the best near field sound quality as well as wake range projection, I would consider the Rev-10 over the Rev-8. Its only a small increase in over price for speakers and amp, to step up into the larger speaker.

Before you go fallin in love with that clean install look, just note that the beauty collars that bridge the gap between the pod and the tower, is a Tige ONLY part. So if you want that, you have have your Tige dealer get the tige OEM pods from Tige. Other wise, you just need the Wet Sounds X pods through any authorized Wet Sounds dealer.

Kind of off topic but in the same area: I need to remove my tower to get the boat in my garage for winter upgrades. The tower speaker wires come out of the boat and go up about 6 inches before going inside the tower tube. This would be a great place to cut the wires so I don't have to fish the wires out from one end. Is there a good connector that I could install right to the wires to put it back together and allow me to disconnect it as needed?

Found your post from a few years back with an example. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...Speaker-Mounts I actually don't mind the X Pod look at all.

Looks like you are also a Wet Sounds dealer? Can you send me a PM with some pricing info on a pair of REV10's with the X pod, the recommended amp for the REV10's, either the SYN2 or SYN4, and the upgraded wire?
