    ALPINE DECK

It seems when i play my Ipod connected to USB/Ipod to back of deck it is half the volume as to when playing a CD.
Is this a normal deal? Is my deck going bad and need replaced? or USB cable bad?

i have found in some decks you have to go in and adjust the volume compensation level it has a way to set a different volume for each input you might be able to try looking in your setting for that it is seprate from your main volume knob its actually in the setting if not i might try a new usb cable you might also want to check the volume on the phone i know sometimes when i plug mine in it will drop the volume on the phone itself and i have to turn it up with the buttons on the side

Which model head-unit? Are you using the Ipod specific cable or one of the adapter cables that plugs into the data port? There may be a sensitivity adjustment

^ x2.... Somewhere in that deck you'll find source level adjustment or source input sensitivity or something along those lines.. Check your user manual and if you don't have the manual, Google the make and model of your deck and you'll find one online.
