    Head unit faceplate adapter?

My 2003 22V had a Clarion XMD1 w/ 2 - M102RC-B wired remotes installed when I bought it. I pulled out the head unit and replaced it with a Clarion M505 Head unit. Well, whoever installed the old head unit cut the single din hole slightly too big. My current unit will fall thru the hole. When it's attached from the rear, there's still a lot of play from the front of the unit. What kind of adapter plate do any of you recommend that can be screwed onto the front, that the new unit can slide in and keep it stable?

Also wondering if the old wired remotes are compatible with my new head unit with this adapter? - CCUMRA1 http://www.discountcarstereo.com/CCUMRA1.html

I custom fab them from ABS when needed. May need a backing plate too as well as to support the rear of the head-unit.

Just note that the LCD display will not function, just the commands.
