Mike got back to me on an email and that's the conclusion he came to as well...

He wrote up an email that will hopefully straighten things out. I really appreciate all the help!!

I picked up some Kicker RCA's yesterday (not the best, I'll upgrade shortly but I'm just trying to get her ready for the water for now)...Any RCA's should work correct?

I do have some speaker wires running straight to the back of the head unit...should only the RCAs be run to the back of the head unit then into the amp and all the speaker wire be connected into the amp?

Yes, any standard RCAs will work and the Kicker ones are top-shelf, so good choice.

Right now, id say that the in-boat speakers are wired to the head-unit. Id leave as is for now. Once the speaker and amp issue is straightened out, then you can work out a plan to upgrade.

        Kicker RCAs are good cables...
The wiring going to the head unit I would assume is in boat speakers. 4 speakers can go on that un-used Amp2. Relieving the head unit of pushing them. You'll have to extend the wires to the amplifier putting two speakers on each channel of amp2.
Kicker is pretty decent Marine so I doubt the amplifier is the issue here, seems to be a wiring mess. Mike prolly wrote a nice long email for ya

Alright guys I can't thank you enough for the help....I'm about 95% there....All speakers are working when the radio is on however when I try to play something thru the aux port only half the speakers work again....it's intermittent SOMETIMES meaning every so often all speakers will come on but then cut out again when playing thru the aux.....assuming it isn't the cord any suggestions on what to check to try and clear this final piece up??

Check the connection and make sure the 3.5 is seating fully in. If so its internal and replacement is easiest..

If its a front AUX receptacle that you are plugging directly into the head-unit, try a different cord and pay close attention to the end in your phone/MP3. If is a remote receptacle thats connected to the rear of the head-unit via RCA style plugs, then also make sure those plugs are fully seated.

Sorry meant to post this above but I forgot to point out yesterday that for my sub to work, I had to plug the sub RCA into oNE of the front/rear RCA ports on the HU. There is a third RCA connection on the back of the HU that's labeled BUS. ....is that where the sub is supposed to be plugged into the HU?

BUS is an input. You can use the front outputs for the speaker and the rear for the sub, but the amp only needs one set of inputs to drive all chnls. Just a matter of changing an input selections. Now that we know all is working, we can get down to business on setting that amp up properly.

You are going to need a set of RCA splitters. 1F x 2M kind.

                          Chp,

Right now I have 3 sets of 2 ch RCA's. Should I return one set and pick up the 1F x 2M or do I need that wire along with all three 2 channel wires?

Also, both you and True were spot on with the aux cord....just needed swapped...everything works across all sources now....

Yes, I would exchange the unused RCA for a couple of Y cables, Your head-unit only has front and rear, so you will never need for than the 2 long pairs you have.

What are you picking up? If you are ready to add another amp right now, then get one thats ideal for the tower speakers and use the current 800.5 for the in-boats and sub.
