I've been quietly lurking for awhile now and finally have something post worthy. We bought our RZ4 last July (first inboard/wake boat) and thoroughly enjoyed every minute on the water with it. As we prepare for our first full lake season with the boat we have done and are doing several things to it including building of the box for the existing subwoofer. I reached out to Timmy! with a few questions about the boxes he had built, and received a lot of very helpful information from him. From what I've experienced so far this is a great community, and I am happy to be a part of the Tige family!

Went to test the subwoofer out earlier this week and it played fine at low volume, I started to fade the headunit to the inboat speakers so that I could turn up the volume without blasting the tower speakers and lost all sound except very faint sound from the tower when I put the fade back to neutral. I checked the amps and the Kicker zx700.5 (which I assume was factory) had shut off but the other amp was still on. I didn't have any further time that night to troubleshoot it. I swung back by today and when I turned everything on both amplifiers turned on normal but when I tried to play music still nothing but faint sound from the tower, and the Kicker had turned to a red light on the amp. The boat showed 12.3 volts, and all that has been changed is the subwoofer box. Does anybody have some insight to this issue?

I would check battery voltage right at the amp power cable terminals. Next, I would disconnect the sub leads at the box and check the Ohms of the sub wiring. Low voltage at the amp will cause the amp to shut down and so will too low of an impedance due to incorrect sub coil configuration.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

chp, you were exactly right, the issue was simply a low battery. Sub sounds great and the boat is going in Monday morning to get the Icon-8's added, and they are going to tune the amps a little for us. Out of curiosity does anybody know what model the inboat Kicker component speakers are? I didn't think to look when I had the chance and now the boat is 40 minutes away.

Yes, thats the correct speaker, Thanks!
It looks like the Icon's will be the last addition/mod we will get done before our season starts. We're waiting on some seadek for the whole transom area but the more we wait the less likely I think it will get here in time. Things we've done since buying the boat last July: rebuilt the pro-60's (sellers expense), new Led tower nav light (old owner had removed it?), replaced the burnt out transom light with an led light, and installed an led drain plug light, we ran a 750lb fat sac in the portside locker for surf last year, and bought a 500 lb for the bow and a 600 lb for the starboard locker over the winter. Very excited for the season ahead!

The Icon-8's went on today, very happy with the mix of those and the pro-60's. While at the audio shop my dad got talked into 2 12's (Good thing I just built a box for our now obsolete 10 ) Boat goes back Wednesday for the sub work.
