picked up a Z3..need subwoofer option

I just picked up a new to me 2012 z3 with 70 hrs. It has the 4 wetsound inboat 6.5s. And has 4 rev10s on the tower with the lower grade HT-4 amps and no subs.. it is in serious need of some subs. I'm wanting to take out the lower grade ht4 amps and install the SYN or SD amps, add a 420 and another pair of 6.5s And add a really good Sub or subs that will hit hard. What are my options. Not to familiar with tige . I'm coming from a 09 x-star..any help would be greatly appreciated. .

Im guessing it has three HT-4? One for in-boats, 2 for the two pair rev-10.

You could install an HT-2 or HT-1 for 600W rms to a nice 12" sub and add a pair of XS-650 to the in-boats HT-4

      Or

Go with an SD-2 for the 2 pair rev-10 and SD-6 for the 3 air of in-boats and 4 ohm sub bridged for right at 600W rms.

I would stick with the interstates. How many more are needed for a house bank is going to be determined by how long you want to play system while at anchor and what the system's estimated current draw is.

I have no clue how it is ran .but it only has 2 ht4s. Also what sub do you recommend that will hit really hard? Can I put it in the wall under the wheel or do I need a custom enclosure? I don't have the tools to really be building a encloser..is there anyone that actually makes one that will work that I can buy. Thanks for your help

Also I do not want to use the HT amps.. I have not had good success with those amps. I had 3 different systems with HT amps and everyone had noise coming threw speakers when volume was all way down. Swapped last setup out with SYN amps and noise went away. I have the same pproblem with this boat with the noise

For a "hard" hitting setup sub setup, id probably say step up to a sub in the 1000W rms range. Hard for me to judge what your perspective is. Id consider the Kicker L7124 and the KXM1200.1

I have that combo in a 2.x ported box, it hits really hard but not the most "musical". If you listen to hip hop or pop, that thing will slam all day long and impress everyone that hears it. If you listen to a lot of country or rock, you might want to consider a different enclosure. Chpthril or Phil can guide you to the best box for your taste.

You won't be disappointed in the output of a 12" L7, especially for the money. I believe Chpthril can sell you that L7 and amp.

You will need to do a custom enclosure for your boat/woofer. The Z3 is not going to be as straight forward as Timmy's RZ2, but not impossible. For a more musical/little less SPL, the CompVX124. Same power handling, so the KXM1200.1 would still be the way to go.

Thanks for your help chpthril. Are you saying just to put the compvx124 in the stock mounting location hole? Sorry for all the questions this boat it just new to me and I'm the only I know of in my area with z3. Or rz2 or 4
                        .

You will want to put the CompVX in a custom enclosure also, ported preferably. The ideal location for the woofer is to have it under the helm, direct radiating into the main cabin. You would need to front-load the enclosure much like Timmy did. Cut a square/rectangle out of the wall for the finished enclosure to slide into. it will have a facade thats a little larger then the opening, so cover the rough edge. With matching carpet, it will be nearly concealed.

What area of the country are you in? If building a box and cutting your boat up isn't your thing, maybe we can help find you the right installer?

Sounds like CHP and timmy have you on your way but here is a link to the sub install on my Z3 and another link to an install the Denver tige dealer did this winter either will get you more than enough sound.
