Where are you guys mounting yours? 2010 24Ve for reference. I have a few ideas but can't decide. It looks like I have a different model than a few of the others I've seen, in that there aren't any screw holes on the front & only 2 on each side. There's a slight flange on the edges of the sides so I should be able to cut out my opening for a tight fit & then put mounting blocks on the back to anchor it.

Are these things waterproof/resistant? I couldn't find anything in the paperwork referencing anything about water intrusion.
Wet Sounds offers 2 billet aluminum mounting options for the WS-420SQ, which is the model you have. The under dash mount and the flush mount.

We initially had out mounted vertically to the front of the panel that the throttle handle is on. That was a temp install to try it out and we really did not like it in that position. The right hand has plenty to do with the throttle, TAPS switch and TT. Moving it to the left side was an improved feel. Our mount was similar to gwhite

Dandy, really dig your install. Did you find it easy to create a bracket behind the dash to support the back if the EQ? Would you mind posting a pic of how it looks behind the dash if you have a photo?
Also, does anybody have an opinion on the BT version? I find the stock Bluetooth has minimal range before cutting out. Curious if the extra cost is worth it vs. the SQ.

Ryan,
What setup do you have as in year model boat, head-unit/BT?
Sound quality and range can be two different areas, until you hit the point of the music cutting out. How is the SQ when near as compared to the other modes? What is the range you are getting? Keep in mind, that the other half of the blue tooth puzzle is your transmitter/phone. This impacts both SQ and range.
Personally, I like the WS-420SQ paired with the BTVC. I like the output strength of the external BT and the fact that its external and universal. This gives my the flexibility to connect it to either the EQ or the head-unit, depending. This setup also look really good when utilizing the under dash mount, which hoses both the EQ and BT.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I have a 2013 Z3 with I believe the standard Clarion head unit. I have noticed if I'm in the front of the bow or back near the swim deck it will end out of range and quit playing for a second or two until I move closer to the middle of the boat. I have an IPhone 5; good point about the transmitter, may be out of date.
Sound quality wise I don't notice that it changes much as I get further away from the head unit. I also did not feel the sound quality improved much when I went to an aux cord. I am a bit disappointed with the stereo all together, even built a sub box with the suggested volume for the FA 10. I feel like my $40 vega sub with 155 wts in my moomba made more bass.
I will look closer at the under dash mount kit then. You make a good point in the flexibility it provides. I think I will also try a newer phone connected to BT to see if that helps with SQ.
Thanks man.
