    2015 Tige ASR Stereo Upgrades

    Boat came with:
    3 pair Wet Sounds XS-808
    XS-10FA
    Driven by SD-6
2 pair Rev-10 with RGB rings
    Driven by SD-2
Wet Sounds RGB LED Music Controller

    The plan:
RGB rings on the 6 XS-808
2 Kicker Comp-VR10 Subs bridged on the current SD-2 and will split 1250W rms. One in the OEM spot, and the 2nd is a smalled sealed enclosure tucked away in the port mid-ship locker.
Adding a 2nd SD-6 that, in conjunction with the existing SD-6, to drive the 4 Rev-10 @ 585W rms, as well as the 808's as they currently are
WS-420SQ with the in-dash mounting plate.
    2 pair Suitz-10 speaker covers.

Pulled the factory sub out and was very surprised and pleased with what I found. The sub cavity is nearly finished. With a little caulk and expanding foam, I think this cavity can be sealed up air tight. Unfortunately, There is not enough height to the seat base to house a 12" sub.

    More to fallow.

All that horsepower and they still put in a free air sub. What a waste. Good for your business though!

I operate my rev 10's in the same manner off of 2 sd6's. I see nothing wrong with your plan. Should kick a$$.

For those considering using an SD-6 for Rev-10, you will be blown away. Ive been driving my Rev-10s and Rev-410 with an SD-6 since the SD amps were released. We've done a couple of dual SD-6/2 pair Rev-10 setups for customers.

I'm pretty green with stereo stuff but Ill just assume the SD6 is 85% efficient with the voltage from from 14.4, which delivers about 497 RMS. Even keeping gains low isnt 497 driving a 300W RMS driver too hard or am I looking at this wrong? OR will the REV10 take more power than stated?

                RZRCO,

With the SD-6/Rev-10 setup, careful tuning is important. Although the Rev-10 will handle some serious power, if you unleash the potential of the SD-6 bridged, it will overdrive the Rev-10.

With a little silicone caulk and some expanding foam, I think we got this cavity sealed up pretty good.

Got the Wet Sounds RGB LED rings installed. I was a little surprised to find that the factory installed LED controller is powered via the tower speaker lights switch. In other words, no LEDs come on, unless your turn the tower speaker LEDs on. If building from scratch, i do like having a means to turn off the tower and external LEDs separately from the interior LEDs. Will likely leaves these as is, since its a brand new boat, under warranty.

Oh, i havent calculated the aproxamite volume of the sub cavity, but will do tomorrow.

Having to rewire the tower in order to upgrade the OEM 16ga to 12ga. Turning out to be a job! Starboard side speaker cabling needs to go down the STBD side, not enough clearance for two 4-conductors. There are four 2-conductors on the STBD side and the hole in the deck is not lining up with the hole in the tower base.

Got the OEM amps and amp wall pulled. Will need to cut an install a larger wall to accommodate the 3 amp. Will also need to relocate the battery charger and source unit. The battery door needs room to open, so that leaves the entire lower right corner of the wall vacant.

I guess the 2015s are now coming with Optima batteries, and not the largest.

The location of the Polk transom remote is going to make for a great grab handle for climbing onto the platform.

The under seat storage is narrow, especially the openings.

Bow ballast is a pair of square sacs in a divided space. look to be maybe 300 lbs each.

Rear ballast sacs run up under the helm and port mid-ship locker

Rear lockers are deep, but very narrow. if additional ballast is needed, the W707 sac would be the best fit, other than a custom.

Wow! Those front sacs do not make me feel good at all. So they say the boat has 3,000 lb factory ballast or four (4) 750lb sacs. Those sacs in the front look nowhere close to that!

Tige.com states the ASR come with up to 4K ballast. Brochure list the ASR as coming standard with the Pro level of 3K. This boat does not have the extra sacs in the lockers, so I would say it only has the 3K standard Pro level. Given the estimated length and height of those in-floor sacs, I would put them at maybe 1100 - 1200, so i'd say that 3K standard Pro level sounds about right.

Im not sure when this illustration was released, but this is not how the ballast is laid out in this boat, although, the info aligns with the text currently on Tige.com

Gotcha. So the total weight is about right, but the distribution is off as the rear sacs are larger.

I think the advertised weight is about right. Rather than 4 large sac, it looks like they have done a pair of long narrow sacs and two smaller rectangle sacs.
