now what i don't know is what to do on the 8 xs650, the crossovers are set at 110, is that right? Also there is a selection for off, HP and LP on the 4 chan amp, i assume that they should be off for the tower speakers and on hp for the interiors or off on the interiors?
Both tower speakers and the 8 in-boats are best run on "HI-PASS". Not only will those not want to reproduce those lower notes, the amp runs more conservative, when its not pushing them to the speaker. This will yield more output and volume from the speakers.

110Hz is not wrong for an XS-650 in an in-boats application, but it will certainly handle a little lower, especially with only 75W. Where you set them is finding the happy medium between them and the sub frequency. There is no "correct" setting, but i would not worry if it was as low as 80Hz.

do the 8 interiors need more then 75rms to each or is that enough
75W across the board for 8 in-boats is perfect. Will they handle more, yes, but its going to take a chit load more amplifier power to make an audible difference. You're talking like SD-4 kind of power. Get it tuned right, and I think you will be more than happy with that setup.

Also, my sub is an alpine type R 12" with 600 running to it, sounds good, not the loudest woofer on earth but decent.
600W rms is good solid power for a 12" sub in a boat. Poor performance.............i would visit the amp setting and the enclosure. Im assuming the woofer is mounted in the helm wall and the enclosure is behind it, or did the place the woofer and enclosure in the port mid-ship locker? Any way you can confirm which woofer it is and what the external dimension of the box?

I do plan on upgrading either the 7's to another set of 9's and adding more power to them or possible changing to the rev 10's,
4 8" would edge a pair of 10" in volume, but will not offer the mid-bass depth of the larger 10". That Alpine amp would deliver 300W to a speaker when in bridge mode. So need to install a 2nd amp, just change speaker and rewire at the amp.

I was thinking of changing interior amp to maybe a 5 channel and losing the mono amp and then using thr 2 4 channel amps I have and using those for the tower speakers.

I did flip the switch on the nines to. Cut the horn down a bit and let the 7's do most of the screming and I think that did make them sound better

Like David (former owner of Earmark Marine in TX) pointed out in your wake world thread, that switch does little. Its even less effective in bettering the SQ when you are paired with a 6.5 HLCD.

First thing I would suggest. before buying an amp, make your final, absolute decision on the tower setup. If you go with the Rev-10, keep the current amps in place. If you decide to go with 2 pair of 8" HLCDs, Go with a 2 chnl for the 4, as opposed to dual amps.

I dont see a 5-chnl being the right move. It will likely be a slight step down in sub power and no gain for the 8 in-boats, especially, if you sub is a single 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm. Depending on the subs final impedance, the Wet Sounds SD-6 would deliver 145W rms to each in-boat and 600 for the sub.

As noted above, you need to know exactly what you have sub wise, before making an amp change to it. No amount of power, will fix a poor box or a bad tune and no amount of tuning will cure a poor box. Your current 600W amp could even be all that woofer can handle.

One thing you haven't confirmed unless I missed it.

Is your sub completely under the helm? I tried looking at pics from your dealer and it looks like they either put the entire sub in the compartment or don't order them with subs.

Or can you see it in the kick panel in front of the driver and the box is behind the wall?

If its completely inside the helm locker, it will kill the bass. Mine was and I had to open the helm door and the bass would pound. At Chpthril's recommendation, I moved it to radiate into the cabin and it made a huge difference.

I haven't been around big systems but I have to believe a 12" with that much power has to pound! If its locked away in a compartment, it will kill it.

the sub in in an enclosed under the front driver side bow cushion, basically if you lift up the back cushion, under the black plastic divider it is in there. It is a Alpine R type 12", however not sure if 2 or 4 ohm as it is in the box and the instruction manual is for both woofers.

The woofer is pointed at my feet, they did drill some holes from the bow into the drivers area, you can't see them unless you look under there and the false floor in the front covers it up.

So the woofer/enclosure is actually in the locker, not mounted through the wall at your feet? like below....If so, that the loss in performance, not the woofer, not the power driving it.

correct, it is under the bow they didn't build a box around it mounted under my feet, it is in its own box under the bow with a few 3" holes cut, i'll try and get a pic but its a tight squeeze

also, nothing to do with stereo, but when i upgrade my bags for the ballast, how hard is it to re route that plumbing, do you just feed it or do you have to take the sub panels off?

I have a 750 sitting here from my old boat i was going to try and play with for the mean time, do i just cut the shrink wrap off around the clamp connecters?

You have 2 independent ballast systems in the bow. Each consist of a custom sac, a fill pump, drain pump and a vent line. Im not sure a Fly High 750 swap is going to net you an increase thats worth the effort to complete the swap. The bow cavity is the limiting factor. To do the swap, you may need to lengthen some hose, shorten some and you will certainly need fittings to fit the sac. Tige builds their sacs in hose, and use a thru-hull welded into the sac. Once the OEM sac is removed, you are left with hose ends in the boat.

Should clarify. Not putting the 750 in front replacing the 350 in th back

Oh ok, sub panels had me thinking subwoofer box and thus bow ballast, sorry.

You will have to do some significant plumbing re-configuring in order to put a 3 port standard sac in place of the custom 4 port OEM sac. I will go ahead an warn you, it wont drain worth a hoot. That 750 will hold about 600 in the rear locker.

Question for you.....thinking I may just get another 4 channel amp for the interiors and then bridge the 2 I have for each tower speakers. Would 4 amps be way to much for 2 batteries, the new amp would be 225x4 at 2 ohms, also as far as wiring it in, I belive I have a sport open on my distributor block, do I need an inline fuse for the new amp?

                          Thanks!

Simple answer is no. But, keep in mind, as current draw goes up, as it will each amp added, are replacing an amp with one with higher output, the time you can play with engine off will be shortened.

I believe I have a sport open on my distributor block, do I need an inline fuse for the new amp?

Cant say without knowing what amp you are looking to install and how the current system is configured.

On another note. Since you are already trying to address the harshness of the smaller xm7. Adding more power to them, will only increase this. If improving the sound quality is what you are truly after, adding an amp for the xm7's is counter productive. If you want, loud, carry on!

In case anyone is interested I have a Wetsounds Syn6 and Syn2 for sale. My boat has 40 hours. And the stereo has had light use. PM me if you are SERIOUSLY interested in purchasing. Can ship as early as Monday AM.

i was looking at a PPi amp that is 225x4 at 2 ohms and putting my 8 interiors speakers on that, so i'd have those up around 125 each and then have 300 on each tower speakers
