Bluetooth issue work around questions????

The issue

I want to be able to start my boat without having to reconnect the Bluetooth from my Iphone every time I turn the key. FYI, It doesn't disconnect when I turn the boat off just on.


What I have

Clairon M502 on dash.
On/off Carling switch for stereo on dash. Even with this on the stereo turns off then back on, prompting me to reconnect my phone to Headunit.
Two interstate batteries with 1/all/2/off switch
Two amps that are connected to the switch with turn on leads that go to the headunit. I'm not sure if they turn off and back on because I just installed them. I Can check on Saturday.

I don't really want to spend a bunch of money getting a new headunit or something. I'm hoping that I just move some wires.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hard wire the stereo and amps away from ignition. When storing, flip breakers off and engage battery isolator (if you have one).

This was one of my fav mods -- I turn off the boat every time a rider comes in or out of the water. The on/off of the head unit drove me crazy.

Do I just remove the carling switch from ignition? Is there a direct wire to it from there.

I don't think i have a battery isolator unless that is another name for the manual red switch that everything is connected to.

Your head-unit has a yellow wire that needs to be B+. This can be battery direct and retail MEM or it can be on the boat side of the main battery switch. Either way, its hot when the main switch is on. There is also a red wire that signals the radio to wake up when the key switch is in the ACC or RUN position. This needs to be taken off the switch and run to a rocker switch. Now, it sounds like what you have, but it seems that maybe the stereo rocker switch is fed through the key switch, thus going dead when the key is turned to CRANK. If so, you get what you are experiencing now.

Break out a volt meter and I bet you will find that the yellow is not B+ or the rocker switch controlling the red is on the key switch's ACC.

I thought I would report back so you guys know what happened.

The head unit had a red wire going to the carling switch and the yellow wire going to ignition. Then the Carling switch was also going to the ignition. I went straight to the battery with the carling switch and then had both the yellow and red wires from the head unit go to the carling switch as well. So nothing is on the ignition now.

I figured out that if I the stereo go to the same battery that i'm using to start the boat then it will cut off just like before but if it is opposite batteries then it wont. So I Still have the problem sometimes.
