I recently picked up a boat (not a Tige, but I have been here for a bit, never posted but you guys are very helpful and informative). The boat has 8 in boat speakers (JL audio's), 2 tower speakers (Aerial speaker/lightbar combo), and a 12" JL sub. The previous owner ran 2 amps, however I believe I need to rewire a few things and add a third amp.
I don't know much about the electronics part of it, but do know how to wire/troubleshoot/tune.
Simple scenario of what is happening - I wire the tower bar speakers in and I get some crazy popping/cutting out/static at a certain volume (its actually 31 but that doesn't mean much to you guys). If I disconnect those two speakers, or any two other speakers I have no issues at all at any volume level.
Can the two extra speakers be over driving the amp?
From what I know/have read it sounds like 1 PAIR of speakers per amp channel, so in my case I would need 2 4 channel amps, and then something additional for the sub?
What would you guys recommend here?
Thanks
Dave
