Yesterday I started connecting all of the RCA's and such to now run my WS420 EQ. I haven't looked in to it further yet but now my sub doesn't work and as I already knew would happen I have lost the control of the volume at the deck and secondary control on the drivers side. I used the purple RCA's out of the back of the deck to the 420. Should I have used a different set to be able to control the volume though the deck? I could use just the 420 but I'd rather use the control up top as it's right by the throttle and the 420 is mounted lower under the dash. It already sounds so much better than it did prior the only other thing it needs now is a proper tune which I have a friend who is in the industry that I will have come by to do that. My only complaint in all of this is I wish Tige would have raised the speakers off the ground and put them in the sides where the cup holders are as I think it would help drive the sound better although I'm sure everyones ankles appreciate the music.

Sub: you will likely need to change the input mode on the Syn-6 so the sub gets its signal direct form the RCA cable plugged into chnls 5/6 form the sub output on the 420.
For the main input to the 420, use the front RCA outputs and make sure the head-unit is centered front/rear and left/right. This will allow for the head-unit or its remotes to still be used as before.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Since the WS-420 is post head-unit along the signal path, anything you do through the head-unit, will still function the same, minus fade. So CD, Tuner, AUX, etc, will still function as before. Going directly into the EQ's AUX input, will bypass the head-unit. At that point, the volume vie the TT or transom remote are also bypassed.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Smcqueen, I am sure someone that did their own install may provide more details. When I had mine installed in the Z1 the installer fished the lines down under the cooler. I am not sure on the routing but I believe they ran it down the side, under the floor, under the cooler and back up the opposite side to the amps. They used a multiple signal line (lines "fused" together) vs running separate signal lines."I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"

Im not sure what you mean JM about the party cove feature, they boat have boat-link? Function/feature wise, the only difference is the BT has the blue tooth receive integrated. The SQ can have BTVC added to it or the head-unit, if your system does not already have a BT receiver.
Both have dual EQ
Both have master volume
both have in-boat, tower and sub volume
both have an AUX in the back
both have the MIC
both have the boat-link jackMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

With the SQ you have 2 mounting options. There's the under dash mount or the flush mount trim plate.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I installed a 420BT this past summer, and it has been fantastic. I routed the cables all the way around the bow, from under helm to the port locker. I did this by removing the bow speakers and fishing from point to point all the way around.
As for the 420BT, I settled on this as I liked the totally integrated package as opposed to two separate devices. Further, I find everything to do with audio control through the TT to be substantially less than good. The only negative (slight at that) with the 420BT is that it has an integrated faceplate/flange, which restricts mounting options somewhat. Someone else will have to confirm for me, but I believe that the BT version uses slightly a higher grade of audio circuitry or internal components than the other versions - not sure, but I thought that I read that on the WS website somewhere. That said, I'm sure that the real world audible difference is zilch.

To my knowledge, the only differences is those associated with the BT receiver integration, which actually includes the larger flange. This is for the BT receiver antenna. Everything else pertaining to EQ, is the same between the BT and SQ versions.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

After removing some panels in my front lockers, it appears the easiest way to route the cables from the amps in the front locker to the helm is to keep cables up against the wall of the cooler. I was thinking I would have to go all the way to the bow and back but a much shorter route against the cooler. The space in the bow is wide open and pretty much filled with the front ballast bags.
