    wiring help

    I have:
    Kenwood KMR 330 head unit
Exile/Samson Harpoon 1000 w amp for the 2 tower speakers
MBQuart NA710.5 5 ch amp (just purchased) to run 4 in boats and 10 FA sub

The Kenwood has a pre out for the front, a pre out for the rear/sub
How do I hook up the two amps and the sub on two sets of pre outs? I must be missing something or am just a little slow.

Can anyone give me a little help! All suggestions welcome If any forum can help, I know this one can.
    Thanks guys.

Front RCA outs to NA710.5's chnl 1 and chnl 2 inputs, INPUT Mode switch in the "Ch2" position

REAR/SUB RCA outputs to the L & R inputs on tower amp. Need to make sure that in the head-unit menu, the REAR/SUB outputs are set to a full-range settings, and not SUB.

OK Mike, now I am trying to tune. The output on the Kenwood they say is 2v. On the rear of the amp it has tuning from 0.2v to 6v. Turned that up about 25%. Put the xovers at full as the instructions say. On xover ch 1/2 there is a level knob and hi pass knob (which I think may be disabled by putting to full). On xover ch 3/4 the is a hi pass, low pass and level. on the bottom row (sub I think) is a 30hz to 150hz low pass knob, a 0dB to 10dB bass boost and a level. Put in some Nickelback as Phil used to recommend and it sounds pretty good, but I may have too much bass in the in boats and was hoping to only get mid and high and let the 10 inch FA sub take care of the lows. Also there is an "offset" setting on the HU, what is that and should I mess with that? Am I on the right track?
          Thanks

I would just ignore the head-units 2v and the graduated hash marks on the input sensitivity (gain level) dials. The gains just need to be set till they're correct.

Run the full-range in-boats on Hi-pass on the chnl 1/2 side of the amp, in the 80-100HZ range.

Run the sub on low-pass on the 3/4 side of the amp with the cross-over about 100Hz

Make sure all the head-unit EQ settings and loudness are flat/off.

I am ignorant, how do you know when they are correct?

Ear - Use a known good quality music file. Turn the source unit to 80% volume with some music you like. Turn the gain up until audible distortion is heard (clipping), or mechanical distortion from overpowering the driver. Once there, turn the gain down a hair. The set volume on the source unit is a max volume.
