    Subwoofer Box

Can anybody (or has anybody) built a sub-woofer box using expanded PVC?

The wax partial board stuff, or coated marine grade plywood just doesn't seem to last.

I basically need one made and shipped.

Here's a picture of mine falling apart.

(It's just time to clean this mess up)

Dam, have you been using that as a live well?

by the looks of the compartment you have a lot of moisture and humidity that remain in the compartment. I wouldn't see how any wooden or even metal material would hold up in that environment. Do you open the boat up and dry out after each use? If not I would start there first.

The problem is Florida.....the compartments just don't dry out well do to the carpet. So when this box comes out, the floor carpet comes out also (keeping the sidewall carpet). The boat has 6 years and 600+ hours on it, and the original build wasn't done for longevity.

The question is if to go ported or non-ported on the next build. Any thoughts?

The boat has three 12" subs, the 3rd is located under the help. That too needs to be rebuilt.

Figure I'd just have it made using marine grade plywood and use expanded PVC base where the box would come in contact with water.
