I'm on a bit of a budget and was thinking about getting some Kicker speakers with LEDs in them. Does a seperate power wire need to be ran for the LEDs? Thanks.

Yes, the LED requires a switched B+ and B- thats separate from the speaker leads.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The Kicker controller is RF, so it can be mounted just about anywhere. I would not run 12/4 for the speaker and LEDs for a couple of reasons. 12ga is overkill for an in-boat, 14ga is even more than enough, 16ga is probably just right foe a single 6.5" in-boat with moderate amp wattage. For single color LEDs, I typically run a 18/2 starting at the furthest LED and loop around the boat to where the controller/switch is going to be. All LEDs are wired in parallel as they are installed. For RGB, I use 22/4.
The speaker wires for the driver and LEDs are entirely separate circuits.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
