    WS420 install and bracket

I've started my install to put a WS420 in my new to me Tige as I had one in my old boat and really liked having it. I started by figuring out where the best place to mount it was going to be and then made a bracket out of cardboard so I could take it to a local plastic shop so they could reproduce it. I just got it back yesterday and got it in the boat last night and mounted it. Once I get some more time I will start running the RCA's and other wires back to the amps. My old neighbor is a stereo guy at a local custom shop I will be taking the boat over to his house so he can do the final connections at the amp and adjust the gains for the best sound. At some point I would like to replace the sub as the stock WS sub well, sucks to be honest. I need some boom. The 4 holes on the bottom will be for the additional ballast pumps I will be installing so the sacs in the rear trunks that are each on their own 1" lines with 2 new through hulls for when I get larger bags. Currently the sacs are piggy backed of the 250lbs hard tanks with 3/4" line and draining doesn't work to well because it has to pull from the bag back in to the hard tank. I plan on upgrading from the current 400lbs to 900lbs so I want faster fill/empty times. I have the switches currently so I figured I would reuse them and they take up less room then the large rocker switches. Anyway here are the pics.

Very cool. I've never fab'd plastic before. Was it expensive?

Gotta love cardboard and masking take Looks good man! I love working with that ABS plastic.

Pulling the original speakers in a 14 year old CC. Making an ABS plate that will cover the entire recessed hole in order to fit the new JL MX650 and LED ring surface mounted.

I just stopped in at my friends A/V shop to see how our install is progressing. We had our 420 mounted vertically alongside the throttle panel last year (had to get it in quick). Below is where we moved it to. We also removed the factory sub and had a 10" ARC Audio sub installed in a sealed enclosure under the drivers seat, all you can see is the beauty panel that was installed. He built the box out of the same heavy plastic material that sub/speaker panel was made out of. That 420 EQ should just be standard, it provides so much adjustment.
