In a boat the size of an R20 why would you want 4 KM10 subs, go with one or two properly amp'd 12" quality subs? I fit two 12" W6s under my helm by taking a little real estate from the storage locker on the other side.

I personally use and love the JL Audio's W6 line, I have heard the W7s and many here use the WetSounds, Kickers and Exile subs among others.

Chpthril can certainly recommend a number of quality subs and he can save you money in the long run by purchasing the correct equipment once.

I had 2 12L7 kickers in my 20i and that was plenty of sound for that size of boat. It wasn't anywhere near the sound i have in my 22ve but i can't imagine you will want more than 2 subs in that boat, as you will lose storage, etc if you do anymore.

Wow system looks super clean! Great job....how well does the 12" keep up with those Rev 10's?

Looking to add a XS-XXXv2 12" to my RZR as well. Could you be kind enough to help with drawings for your box?

I actually built the box exactly to the Wet Sounds spec for their dual, slot loaded enclosure design. You can find it here:

                https://wetsounds.com/media/products..._Enclosure.pdf

I'm building a new enclosure this week though that will be tuned a little higher at 40hz, using a round precision port. Based on feedback from a friend who built the same enclosure WS designed and this new one, I really expect it to be a big improvement.

I'll let you know next weekend once I install it in the boat.

Thanks. I will skip on building the one on the wetsounds site. Let me know what you come up with.

                      Hey Z3James,

What amps do you have running what? How do the Rev10s sound on the jl amps?

So I moved all the electronics up today and it looks like I can get a box with outer dimensions of 22" wide x 14" tall x 16" depth. I plan to work with Simon at Wetsounds on a design but if anyone has any ideas let me know. Still need to decide on the sub amp? Will an Arc Audio xdi1000v1 be enough bridged to 1 ohm for the xxxv2?

Houston fit the box from Wetsounds that is 15.25" tall and 20" deep so I assume I could squeeze more in. Going to the 20" depth will cut into the ballast a bit but not a huge deal.

If my math is correct and you are using 3/4" cabinet material, that's a 2.15 cu ft. box? That is huge! Are you planning on running two in a sealed enclosure?

Your math is correct. This is the max size I could fit. Subtract the big xxxv2 and port volume and your well under 2cuft. Thinking a single xxxv2 so with aero ports this is plenty of room. I wanted to give Simon all the available room I could. Perhaps two 10" would be better than a single 12" since I have the room. I do like how low a 12" can hit though.

DUH!! I did forget to subtract the sub's displacement, around .11 cu ft for each 12" sub? (if I remember correctly). Stick two 12" subs in there and hook some big *** amp to them! Go into the forward storage area if you need to. That's what I did, and it didn't take up too much room. Who needs storage anyway...

You would want about 3 ft3 enclosure for the 15". May be doable, but thats some serious mod to make it fit.

That 1200.1 is 1200W rms x 1......@ 14.5V. With the engine off, your battery voltage will be more like 12.5. You can see up to a 25% reduction in RMS at static battery voltage. So would not hesitate to use the 1200.1 on either the 12 or 18.

For a surf/party cove setup, yes, i'll take a larger KM8 coaxial over the KM6500.2 HLCD

2 ZXM-RLC would give the 3 zones: tower, in-boat and sub, plus the 9V line level, so no worries splitting RCA cables to multiple amps driving the same zone.
I saw a Moomba Outback with (2) L710s in a ported enclosure under the dash. He said there is defiantly enough room on the Mondo or LSV for (2) 12" L7s under there. You think there's enough room on a R20 or no? If so would I use a KX2400.1 since that would give me roughly 1800RMS (subtracting 25%)? Thanks Mike!
