    Towers:

2 pair Kicker KM8LCW. One pair bridged on a KXM400.4 and the other bridged on a KXM800.5. Each pod receiving 200W rms

    In-boats:
    4 pair XS-650 on a pair of KXM400.2 2 chnl amps, with each XS-650 receiving 100W rms

    Subs:
L7-124 in a sealed enclosure under helm driven by a KX1200.1

For a couple of boat shakers, 2 KM104 in custom enclosure on port locker, driven off the sub chnl of the KXM800.5 for 400W rms total.

I like your idea, I'm just worried about using a Non-Marine Amp. Or does it not really matter that much?

Do you think the L7 15" would fit under the Drivers Helm? Wouldn't the 1200.1 push that better than the 12"? I mean I could just do a 800.1 with the 12" right? Or do I need the 1200.1 with the 12"?

You like the Kicker KM8LCW over the 6 speakers with horns?

So with this setup I would just need 1 ZXMRLC for Tower Zone & Boat Zone...then I would have a separate sub knob for the L7 & KM10's?

I did 4 rev 10s with custom mounts on the tower powered by 3 JL amps and a ported box with a JL 12w6v3.

I need to take a picture of the enclosure but it's under the helm with a false wall and a wet sounds speaker and heater tube cut in it.

In a freshwater trailer boat, there are no issues using non-marine when its needed to fit the build. Its all about where and how its installed.

You would want about 3 ft3 enclosure for the 15". May be doable, but thats some serious mod to make it fit.

That 1200.1 is 1200W rms x 1......@ 14.5V. With the engine off, your battery voltage will be more like 12.5. You can see up to a 25% reduction in RMS at static battery voltage. So would not hesitate to use the 1200.1 on either the 12 or 18.

For a surf/party cove setup, yes, i'll take a larger KM8 coaxial over the KM6500.2 HLCD

2 ZXM-RLC would give the 3 zones: tower, in-boat and sub, plus the 9V line level, so no worries splitting RCA cables to multiple amps driving the same zone.

Ok that makes since...I didn't realize that.

So I won't be using the supplied bass knobs on the 2 amps?

I guess instead of having just 3 zones I could have 4 the (Tower, Subs, Bow & Cabin) that way if I have kids riding in the bow I don't have to blare there ears out.

I guess if I really wanted to make the boat shake I could get rid of the 400.4 & get another 800.5 & 2 more KM10s.

Does the L7 sound better than the CVX? I know they have the same RMS but curious on what would be a cleaner sound?

                  Thanks again!

yes, by all means you can use the supplied sub control knob, and control each interdependently. personally, I like have all the bass volume under one control.

Yes, you could do the bow as a 4th zone for those days when the someone wants to sit up there and not have quite the volume level as in the main cabin.

Yes, you could go with a 2nd KXM800.5 and another pair of KM10's

The L series offers more surface area and a little more excursion. Thats the easy way to get more output. The L7 will do better in a sealed enclosure, where as the i think the VX does better in a ported enclosure. Thats a 3db increase over a sealed enclosure with no increase in amplifier power. I think the VX is a little more musical then the L7, but its hard to say which one sounds better.

That is why I ran (4) Icon8s on my tower vs. the larger rev10s in my current boat. I LOVE the way they sound while we are taking a break in the cove.

I haven't heard the Kicker KM8s, but in my old boat I had a bunch of the Kicker 6.5" speakers and one 12" JL Audio W6 sub and I really liked the way that boat sounded.

The one thing that I did learn was NOT to under power any of the speakers, especially the subs.

Ok I like your style...I wonder if I could fit 4 KM10s on the R20? Haha

On the KM10s can all 4 be mounted in 1 custom box or does each sub need it's own airspace?

Technically yes, those 4 woofers can share a common enclosure. But, I dont see anywhere in a boat that you could put an enclosure that large.

as long as you are not grossly compromising the size of the enclosure. Too small and they become peaky snappy one-note-wonders
