iphone - new plugs?

I am looking to upgrade my iPhone. My stereo has a plug for my iPhone 3 but I heard the plugs changed for versions 5. Is there a conversion plug? I have an 09 Z1 with a Clarion Stereo and an iPhone/iPod plug in the glove box in the dash for my phone or is there a new plug that I can get from Clarion?

Or, if the Clarion plug in the glovebox is USB (like mine), you can buy an extra USB-to-lightning wire (like the one you're probably using now that has the 30-pin connector instead of the lightning connector). It's $19. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD...cable?fnode=3a

I imagine you might be able to find these cheaper on other sites.

You can also get the cord aftermarket at Best Buy or wherever cheaper 10-12 buck. Worked for me.

I bought this and 4 out of 5 worked. The reviews stated that they all usually don't work but I gave it a shot. I liked these ones because I run a thick case on my phone. I have about 4 30pin cables and one 8 pin so it worked out perfect.

Thanks guys, I am not sure what the other end of the plug looks like that plugs into the radio, but at the very least I know that adaptor will work. The boat is in winter storage across town so I can't just go out and check. Leaning towards 5s or c now.

If it's usb on the deck, a regular lightning cable will work. Monoprice.com has very nice (apple certified) aftermarket cables. If it's a proprietary plug on the deck then spend the money for the apple 30 pin to lightning cable. Aftermarket ones usually will only work to charge.

If you are going to buy a 5C save some money and just get a used 5. Same phone. Unless you are getting a low gig phone contract deal.
