Help Installing Clarion M502 this weekend what do i need?

I will be driving to the boat then doing the install Friday night at the river to enjoy on Saturday and Sunday. I haven't opened the box yet but I'm sure there is some kind of wire diagram. There currently is a non-working Alpine head unit in the dash. Is it going to be as simple as taking one out and plugging one in? Fat chance I know but I had to ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I haven't done one of these in a long time.

    thanks

Did the one in my dads boat a couple years ago. It probably will fit right in and mount and anchor the same way. But unless you are supper lucky the plugs aren't going to match. You will have to cut the other one out and connect the new. Colors should match between the 2. Red for b+ switch, Yellow b+ constant(memory), and black for the b-. If you have speakers to the head unit hook them back up to the proper place. If you have amps, just plug in the RCA's and connect the blue turn on wire.

Took me like an hour to swap. Nothing tough about it.

Definitely need Wire Strippers for high gauge wire 18-20 i would guess. You will also need a crimping tool and a bunch of these little colored wire connector things that you crimp on one end of the wire then slide the other end of the wire in then crimp them together to complete the connection. You are definitely going to need to cut the old harness out and connect the colored wires to the new harness. Shouldnt be too bad. Good luck

A wire striper, wire cutters, electrical tape, zip ties, phillips, flat head, a hand saw, a heat gun, and set of those not sure on the gauge (water proof solder seals) (if you can't get these then solder and a soldering iron).

A drop light and a case of cold beer would be nice too. It should involve pulling out the old head unit, making sure the M502 fits. Cutting the old alpine pig tail off, splice wires, and connect to the new M502 pig tail. Plug in make sure works, use zip ties to get everything out of the way.
