What size of wire should be going to a pair of Pro 60s on the Alpha-z? I had a RCA cable on the fritz over the last couple months. I finally got around to actually replacing it & noticed that the tower wires are 16 gauge, spliced into 14 gauge for the remaining 16" before the amp. I haven't got a clue why someone from the factory/dealer would have done this but found it odd. I'm thinking about changing it over to all 12 gauge whenever I get time.

I installed a set of rev 8, ran 12awg tinned speaker wire, also if I ever added another set I wouldn't have to run new wire again to accommodate two sets. Sounds like a wiring upgrade is needed, I found some very interesting things as well when I was installing my stereo and ballast system and that was also factory done. -
If its the red and black stiff that is the factory wire and yes I think it was only 16. If it was added on probably like mine. Which had the tower prewire, but the wires were to short to get to the amp wall.Comment

That's exactly what it is. Seems like small wire for what most people end up with up there. I guess it'll work as a chaser wire to pull some larger wire now.Originally posted by boardman74 View Post
