    new boat stereo questions

I think we've decided to buy an RZ2.....one question on the stereo though, the boat comes with a Syn6 for in boats and the 10FA and a Syn2 for the pair of Rev10's on the tower. I know looking at numbers I should probably switch to an SD6 and SD2 to get a little more power to all the speakers and since I'm planning on adding a second set of Rev10's down the road the SD2 seems to be the way to go. Question is before I add the second set of Rev10's, will I notice an increase in output by going to the "bigger" amps?

    Tommy,

Lets start with the tower: Yes, if you plan to add a 2nd set of Rev-10, then hands down, go with the SD-2 now. And yes, you will hear a difference in the current set as you will be doubling the wattage over the 200W rms from the Syn-2.

Sub: depending on what year RZ2, the XS-10fa could be a single voice coil 4 ohm or a DVC 4 ohm wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load at the amp. This will make a huge difference in you amp options. I will hold off until you can determine the subs configuration.

      it's a 2013 or ordering a 2014

if you order a 2014, I would go with the bass level system of 4 in-boats and head-unit. Then add that 3rd pair of in-boats and a nice 12" sub. The SD-6 would offer 585W rms to a sub.

If you go with a boat that already has the 6 in-boats and XS-10fa and you decide to swap the Syn-6, I would go with the HT-6 for the efficiency alone.

Problem is I like my amps to match, so that's why I'm thinking SD6 and SD2. Going to swap the 10FA to either a 10W7, 12W7, or possibly a Sundown in a ported enclosure.
