    Mounting Rev 10's

Is it safe to mount Rev 10' slightly horizontal? I would like to mount them tucked away in the corner of my tower. I am using the x-mounts.

    Thanks
    Zach

The pod can hang vertical or horizontal, no problem. What tower do you have any how are planning to physically mount the x-mounts pods in a non-OEM mounting location?

The tower I have is some sort of hybrid tower which I am learning to hate. There is no oem mounts. I have the holes drilled for the speakers and now I am trying to run the wire. There is no straight shot, I am going to have to cross the bridge and go down one of the tubes then cross over at the bottom into the other tube. I am going to town to buy a nylon fish tape, hopefully it works but it will be a miracle. This is my first boat and I bought it brand new, I just assumed I could and speakers. Tige should have never let this tower leave the factory if it is a prototype.

Also will 16ga be large enough? I have 12ga but it doesn't look like I will have the room in the holes.

14ga is at a minimum, 12ga is ideal.

Any chance we could get a pic of the full tower? I think that is one of the extended Alpha Zs but I did not think they were in production. Where did you buy the boat?

I absolutely love that tower! It looks a lot better than the Vector tower IMO.

I've only seen a couple boats with it. Post a pic of the whole boat.

Finally have one speaker mounted. I ran a run of 12awg to each speaker, the stereo shop sold me 16awg. I should have questioned their judgement since they sold me a 4awg kit to power a HT-4 & HT-6.

Just wondering how you mounted your speakers. I have the same evo tower and am trying to mount 2 rev 8's. they sent me tube mounts and I dont think they will work with this tower unluss i mount them sideways. It dosn't look like there are any mounting spots on the solid part of the tower for the x-mounts.

On my tower when I was drilling through the tower on the bottom side I hit a half inch aluminum plate. So instead of drilling more holes in the top of the tower I just drilled and tapped the plate inside of the tower. I haven't had any problems yet.

Thanks, If you have any close up pictures of the mounts I would love to see them. Did you need the X-mounts for this?
