Under helm sub install - Advice?

my old 10" Kicker L7 was in a ported box and i built the box so that i could barely slide it thru the seat opening. I cut the side wall and used that for the venting from the area. No sub to worry about kicking or accidently hitting as it was completly inside the compartment. It was loud and exactly what i wanted at the time. If you dont have to "see" your sub then that is how i would go. Plus i would do a ported box as opposed to a sealed box but that is my preferrence. good luck you have alot of knowledgable people here helping you out.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, I appreciate. This defiantly gives me a better handle on what I need to accomplish to do it the right way. Will post pics when finished!
