    Riley,

I have not had a chance to audition the AS-10 or the SS-10B (similar 10" but raw driver), but I can tell you with out a doubt, that placing a sub under the helm is almost always the most ideal location. Closing a woofer up in an insulated locker, is like cutting its power in half. Not only is its output greatly dampened for those in the boat, but most of its musicality is lost. Its just become a boat-shaker. if you are running multiple subs, then this ok as long as you have a primary sub radiating into the cabin. I would recommend doing a sub under the helm

Roger that! Thanks skippabcool and chpthril!

Sooooo many subs to choose from! So many amp configurations to run them! Holy cow! You guys must have a PhD in stereo knowledge!

PS I saw a under-helm sub with a metal box behind it! Pros? Cons?

Rileydog, i have heard great things about the AS10 Wet Sounds sub, but i have not heard my self. You will not be happy with any sub in the portside locker unless you have the seat up..... Unless your adding a second sub under there for a butt shaker.

Gotcha. Well, it looks like under the helm is the way to go. Would it be horrible to power a 300 W RMS sub with a 250W RMS amp?

Also, I will take pics of the metal sub box this Friday for Mike.

If your a bass head then i recommend the same set up as i have..... 2x 15" FI BTL N2's with a Sundown Saz-3500 pushing them. I installed them in the rear lockers on each side of the engine. If you want bass that will give you bass...... water splashing, fish killing bass, making waves bass.......oh and did i mention its really loud.

The SYN1 at 1ohm on the XXX did help, but i have not been on the water with it yet. Its so hard to tell inside the garage, cause its way louder inside!
